Chocolate Covered Jeep Commander

The world of PR keeps getting weirder by the minute.... this time, seven contestants licked their way through more than 700 pounds of chocolate covering several Jeep vehicles.

In the picture, Ben Winner of Columbus, Ohio, licks through more than a 100 lbs. of chocolate covering the grill of a Jeep Commander, as he searches for the "sweet spot," and keys to an all-new Jeep Liberty in the Sweetest Day The Jeep Way Contest in Cleveland, the holiday's original home. In spite of his name, he didn't win...

Jeep Commander Won't Be Cut...For Now

Chrysler announced that it will cut production of four models for 2008: Chrysler Pacifica, PT Cruiser convertible, Crossfire and Dodge Magnum. The Jeep Commander appears safe for now, although some speculate that it may be a casualty of the next round of cuts, due to its slow sales and the possible cannibalization of Jeep Grand Cherokee sales.

Halo Headlight Kits for Jeep Commander

Halos ( rings of light surrounding the outside edge of the reflectors on vehicle headlights) were originally developed by BMW and now aftermarket manufacturers are offering halo kits for many different makes and models. I found this halo kit for the Jeep Commander on ebay, marketed by a company called Advanced Automotive Concepts. This halo kit uses CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lighting) core technology. CCFL produces a very white light with a very slight hint of blue or cyan. The look is very "high tech" and matches HID equipped lights exceedingly well. Additionally, this technology provides for very bright output from the halo rings so they're visible day or night. It can be installed in under four hours if you are moderately experienced.

2008 Jeep Commander Sport 5-Seats

Good news for those of you who wanted more cargo space in their Commanders instead of that third row of seats. The 2008 Commander Sport will be offered with two rows of seats as standard equipment, which means a larger cargo space compartment. Those who still want the three rows of seats with the 3.7L V6 Sport can still get it as an option. Check the 2008 Jeep Commander Sport specs here.
